Engagement and leadership have defined Carolina experience for Selena Braye-Bulls '23, who has served as editor-in-chief of Black Ink, and involvement in student government and in the Alliance, a collaboration between Carolina’s four campus cultural centers. As Sean Douglas Leadership Fellow at the Sonja Haynes Stone Center for Black Culture and History, Braye-Bulls serves as a liaison between the Stone Center and campus student organizations.
“As a first-year student, I found that the best way to get acclimated to UNC was to get involved," Braye-Bulls said. "I saw a lot of things that I thought could be made more efficient or more fun, and I could help by leading the changes I wanted to see in the UNC community.”
