The Williamses have supported the Carolina Covenant since its inception two decades ago, often sharing that Roy would have been a Covenant Scholar had the program existed when he was a student.

The Carolina Covenant, UNC-Chapel Hill’s commitment to providing low-income students the opportunity to graduate from Carolina debt-free, is celebrating its 20th anniversary throughout the 2024-25 academic year. More than 11,000 Carolina Covenant Scholars have enriched Carolina and helped keep Carolina true to its founding mission. Here we feature stories of impact throughout the years.
