Gifts of appreciated assets and some mutual funds can be a tax-efficient way to support Carolina. Many donors choose these options to maximize the impact of their gift while potentially reducing capital gains or income taxes.

Donors often give appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual funds by transferring them directly to the University. Carolina sells the securities and applies the proceeds according to your designation.
