Center for Climate, Energy, Environment & Economics

Provides support for immersive student learning in environmental, energy, and climate law through research collaboration, policy analysis, and experiential opportunities that connect legal study to real‑world challenges at UNC School of Law.

Center for Public Engagement with Science

Supports a network of field sites through semester-long, immersive experiences in North Carolina and abroad where students live and learn in diverse ecosystems — from mountains to coasts to urban environments while advancing education, research, and community engagement.

Charles M. and Shirley F. Weiss Expendable Fund in Urban Livability

The Weiss Urban Livability Program supports talented graduate students who seek to improve urban livability.

Clinical Programs Discretionary Fund

Provides support for Carolina Law’s clinical programs, where students gain hands‑on legal experience while expanding access to justice for individuals and communities in need.

Community Service Scholarship Program Expendable Fund

Provides support for tuition assistance and programming to select, service-oriented undergraduates to advance their commitment, knowledge and skills related to service. Community Service Scholars receive training, mentorship and individualized support of specific public service interests.

CPILO Current Use Fund

Provides support for Carolina Law students pursuing unpaid or underfunded summer professional work opportunities serving the public interest.

DFI

Provides support for the Development Finance Initiative (DFI), which assists local governments with community development projects.

Director Development Initiative

Provides support for UNC School of Law to prepare and connect aspiring leaders with nonprofit and corporate board service opportunities.

Disaster Relief Fund

Provides support for CCPS to support the University’s response and relief efforts in the aftermath of natural disasters. CCPS serves as a hub for information, service opportunities and project fundings. Donations to the Disaster Relief Fund cannot be transferred to individuals or organizations; rather, the funds allow Carolina to engage with and fully support affected communities in the near and long term.

Eichholz Foundation and Arete Swartz-Warren, MA '70 Director of Education and Interpretation Fund

Provides support for the position that oversees K-12 and university student outreach, public programs, and interpretation materials for visitors.
