Provides support for APPLES Service-Learning, which is celebrating a legacy of 35 years as a student-led program that connects academic learning and public service. APPLES engages students, faculty and community in sustained and mutually beneficial partnerships for transformational educational experiences for students and for positive outcomes in communities.
Arts and Sciences Fund
Provides support for the College’s highest priorities — recruiting and retaining faculty, enhancing student engagement, deepening academic excellence and achieving global impact.
Arts Engagement Fund
Support programming that provides transformational arts exchanges among artists, students and community members — using arts as a tool to advance discovery, interdisciplinary learning, leadership skill building, connection and belonging.
BeAM Makerspace Gift Fund
Provides support for a network of campus makerspaces where UNC faculty, students and staff utilize state-of-the-art equipment and emerging technologies to design and make physical objects for education, research, entrepreneurship and recreation.
Brett and Sara Weed Judith Wegner Local Government Fellowship Fund
Provides support for a 12-month Local Government Law Fellowship at the School of Government that prepares newly graduated attorneys for careers in local government law, with an emphasis on serving North Carolina counties and municipalities.
Carolina Center for Public Service
Provides support for the Carolina Center for Public Service to make it possible for Carolina to fulfill its mission of respectful, engaged public service that is responsive and contributes to the common good across North Carolina and beyond.
Carolina College Advising Corps Gift Account
Provides support for recent Carolina graduates to directly serve underrepresented high school students and provide them with college access support.
Carolina Law Externship Program Fund
Provides support for the Externship Program, connecting Carolina Law students with mentored, hands‑on legal experience alongside judges and practicing attorneys.
Carolina Public Service Scholars Program
Provides support for undergraduate students to expand their understanding of service, connect academic and community-based experiences and build their capacity to have a positive impact through service. Scholars complete rigorous program components and create a portfolio reflecting their individual scholarship and world experiences.
Charles M. and Shirley F. Weiss Endowment for Creativity in Performing Arts-Stone Center
Provides support for various performing arts initiatives of Carolina faculty, students, and staff who work in collaboration with the Stone Center in fulfilling its mission and is named for the late Professors Charles M. Weiss and Shirley F. Weiss.
