APPLES engages students, faculty and community in sustained and mutually beneficial partnerships for transformational educational experiences for students and for positive outcomes in communities.

Provides support for the Carolina Center for Public Service to make it possible for Carolina to fulfill its mission of respectful, engaged public service that is responsive and contributes to the common good across North Carolina and beyond.

Supports a network of field sites through semester-long, immersive experiences in North Carolina and abroad where students live and learn in diverse ecosystems — from mountains to coasts to urban environments while advancing education, research, and community engagement.

Provides support to revolutionize visitor experiences through facility enhancements and the creation of immersive, shared reality experiences in the dome and exhibit halls.
