Faculty Mentoring Awards

Faculty support can take many forms. One of the most critical, as identified by our own faculty, is the need for recognition programs to honor the outstanding work being performed by Carolina’s faculty scholars. The Carolina Women’s Leadership Council responded to this need by establishing the Faculty Mentoring Awards. Each year the Council reviews, selects and awards three faculty mentoring awards. Each award recipient receives a $5,000 stipend, endowed by the Council. Individual awards are given in the following categories: faculty to undergraduate student mentoring, faculty to graduate student mentoring, and faculty to junior faculty mentoring.

Nominations for the Faculty Mentoring Awards open early in the fall semester and are collected through the end of the calendar year. Exact dates are subject to change. Faculty award recipients are selected in January. The Faculty Mentoring Awards are publicly announced and presented at the annual meeting of the Carolina Women’s Leadership Council in late February.

Nominations are submitted via the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Web site.
