What’s the impact of Carolina?

For alumni, it’s the road traveled to Commencement Day – the lessons learned, the horizons broadened, the friendships forged. It’s that degree proudly hung on the office wall, and the doors it’s opened in their lives.

For today’s students, it’s the promise of this same experience, of joining a legacy that stretches back more than 200 years.

Whether walking campus now, or reflecting on your days in Chapel Hill, no doubt you’re thankful for what this place means to you.

And we want you to show us.

The theme of the inaugural Carolina Annual Fund Video Contest is “Thanks to Carolina.” The contest is open to all current undergraduate and graduate students, as well as Young Alumni (classes 2000-2009).

Maybe Carolina helped you discover your life’s passion – or your life’s soulmate. Maybe Carolina enabled you to travel abroad for the first time – or inspired your first trip to volunteer at a local elementary school. No matter what the subject, show us how you’re thankful for your Carolina experience.

Entries must run two minutes or less and be posted to a YouTube page created by the contestant. If your entry meets the Official Contest Rules, it will be posted to a Carolina Annual Fund Video Contest YouTube page for audience voting (votes will be the number of video “views”) at:

http://www.youtube.com/user/ThanksToCarolina

There will be three prizes:

* Grand Prize - $500
* Runner-Up Prize - $250
* Audience Choice Prize - $500

Submissions will be taken Oct. 26, 2009 - Nov. 29, 2009, with audience-choice voting Dec. 1-31, 2009. Go to this page to submit a link to your video and to read complete details and rules about the contest.

Good luck!
