Carolina Leadership Development
Carolina Leadership Development, formerly known as the Office of NC Fellows Program and Leadership Development, promotes effective leadership and citizenship through experiential learning, training and resources. Part of the University's Division of Student Affairs, the office sponsors the North Carolina Fellows Program, created in 1968, and is responsible for the Emerging Leaders Program, Womentoring Program, two academic courses in leadership and numerous resources including the Leadership Library.
Carolina Leadership Development is housed in the James M. Johnston Center for Undergraduate Excellence. Modeled on the internationally acclaimed Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, the facility brings state-of-the-art group and individual skills-building available to students at the University.
Although the University remains committed to Carolina Leadership Development, the endowment will ensure that we have the means to foster the development of tomorrow's leaders by enhancing the students' learning experiences, encouraging creative and ethical citizenship in a diverse environment and inspiring students to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world. Funds will go toward program expansion, academic course development, assessment and feedback, and expanding the leadership library.
