Make a Difference
Graduates of the last 10 years make up one-fourth of living Carolina alumni. If all young alumni, including you, made a gift of $25 through the Carolina Annual Fund to the school, unit or program of their choice, we would have an additional $1,119,350 to support the University.
Why Carolina Needs Your Help:
- State appropriations provide only about 27 percent of the University's revenue and tuition funds only another 11 percent. Private gifts from alumni and friends of the University are essential in filling the gap. In fiscal year 2008, private gifts joined private grants and investment income to help generate almost 20 percent of our revenue.
- The University relies heavily on annual donations for general operating costs. Your yearly gift allows the school, unit or program of your choice to provide necessary resources and support for current and future members of the Carolina family. Donations from young alumni are a critical piece in the overall effort to keep Carolina in a position of national leadership.
- Alumni participation is a factor in the U.S. News & World Report rankings. Currently, we rank 40th in total alumni participation. By giving whatever amount you can afford each year, you can help Carolina improve its ranking and sustain its place as a leading university.
- As one fourth of all living alums, young alumni have an immense impact on the overall participation rate at the University. By giving, and encouraging your friends to give, your impact will be felt.
