Heelraisers Student Giving Society

The Heelraisers Student Giving Society is a program of the Carolina Annual Fund that recognizes gifts made to the University by current undergraduate students.

Students can give any amount to any area of the University and by doing so, are granted membership in the Heelraisers Society.

In the 2009 academic year 1,958 students contributed more than $108,000.00 to improve the quality of Carolina's academics, student-life and athletic programs.

You can join your peers in supporting Carolina and maintaining it's excellence by becoming a Heelraiser today.

Facts & Figures

It costs more than $2 billion a year to run the University. Many people think that the combination of student tuition and appropriations from the state of North Carolina are what keep the University running each year. The truth is that the state contributes 27 percent of Carolina's budget and tuition and fees account for another 11 percent. The remaining 62 percent must be generated through competitive grants, sales and services, and the loyal support of alumni, friends, parents and even students.

Revenue

Carolina relies heavily on private gifts to maintain the quality of our academic programs and services offered to students and athletics. Carolina would not be the institution it is today – a top-ranked center of learning and an NCAA basketball champion – if it wasn’t for private annual gifts.
