We aim to meet the goals of special drives to support faculty and students to further position Carolina as the nation’s leading public university. They are:

The Campaign for Faculty Support

facultyThis drive aims to complete the $500 million goal for faculty support in the recent Carolina First Campaign. This initiative stresses support for early- and mid-career faculty and Eminent Professorships, as these are the only endowments that fully create and fund a new faculty position. more information»

Student Support

libraryUndergraduate Merit Scholarships for Middle-Income Students aim to make Carolina more affordable for more high-achieving students from families with modest incomes who don’t qualify for need-based aid under federal standards. more information»

meritWith Undergraduate Merit Scholarships for Students Regardless of Financial Status, we plan to create a robust merit scholarship program for undergraduates that will keep us competitive in recruiting top students to Chapel Hill. more information»

covenantWe aim to raise $20 million to support the Carolina Covenant, our groundbreaking initiative to give the children of low-income families an opportunity to attend Carolina — without borrowing a penny. more information»

We also have two special student-support opportunities — the Eve Marie Carson Memorial Junior-Year Merit Scholarship and the Carolina Family Scholarship. more information»

Other Support

We need funds for building projects and the Annual Fund, which gives donors the opportunity to support the school or unit of their choice as well as make unrestricted gifts that the chancellor can use to meet our key priorities. 

The College of Arts and Sciences and constituent schools and units seek support as well.
